Duty on a Mazda from the USA: 0% or 10%
About 8% of the Mazda cars that have passed through our database list an American assembly plant in their production data. Those pay 0% duty and the rest pay 10%. The badge settles nothing: European-market and US-market versions often come from different countries, and the plant record tied to the VIN gives the answer.
Which Mazda models are assembled in the USA?
Across the Mazda range we confirm American assembly for 8 models, while 21 have only ever reached us from plants outside the USA. The first group can enter the EU at 0%, the second pays 10%. Where a model lists two assembly countries, only the VIN gives an answer.

Models of “American” brands without zero duty
Every Mazda assembled outside the States stays outside the preference. Such a car pays 10% duty, and that figure also lifts the base for 23% VAT. Cars in this group are still worth importing — the arithmetic simply runs differently than for a car from an American plant.

How do you check a specific car?
How much will you save?
EU–US Agreement on Reciprocal Trade has applied since 2026-07-01 and it is what strips 10% duty from cars finally assembled in the States. For a Mazda that meets the condition, what remains is excise (3.1% or 18.6%) and 23% VAT. Run the result through the calculator — it follows customs value and engine size.
Work out the import costZero-duty paperwork — our job
Our customs agency handles the formalities. We collect the assembly data, prepare the declaration and run the clearance — for a Mazda that qualifies on its VIN we apply for 0% duty. The rate finally granted is the customs office's decision, taken on the documents submitted.
