Chrysler off American assembly lines

There is no single rate for the Chrysler badge. Duty follows the plant that built the individual car: an American line means 0%, a line outside the States means 10%. VAT at 23% is charged on the value with duty added, so the gap reaches further than one line of the bill. The VIN of a single car decides.

Which Chrysler models are assembled in the USA?

Chrysler models split into two groups here: 31,951 cars carry an American assembly plant in their data, the rest a European, Mexican, Canadian or Asian one. Group one qualifies for 0% duty, group two for 10%. We take the assembly country from production data, not from the model name.

Models of “American” brands without zero duty

The zero rate is out of reach for Chrysler cars from plants outside the USA, even when an American dealer sold them and you bid on them at a sale in the States. The preference in force since 2026-07-01 looks at the place of final assembly, so 10% stands. The VIN shows it plainly.

How do you check a specific car?

Start with the first three characters of the VIN — on a US-assembled Chrysler that is most often 1A4. It is a good hint rather than proof: the prefix describes the manufacturer and the country, while we reach for the record of the actual plant, so the answer covers this one car.

How much will you save?

The saving has two sources and both are percentages: 10% of duty disappears, and the 23% VAT base drops by exactly the line that was never added. On a Chrysler from a line outside the USA neither effect fires. The calculator shows both routes from the same inputs.

Zero-duty paperwork — our job

You put nothing together yourself. We check the origin of your Chrysler by VIN, prepare the clearance paperwork and see the case through. If the production data points to assembly outside the USA, we declare the car at 10% — no surprises when you come to collect it.
