Chevrolet from the USA — which models get 0% duty

There is no single rate for the Chevrolet badge. Duty follows the plant that built the individual car: an American line means 0%, a line outside the States means 10%. VAT at 23% is charged on the value with duty added, so the gap reaches further than one line of the bill. The VIN of a single car decides.

Which Chevrolet models are assembled in the USA?

American assembly covers 57% of the Chevrolet cars in our database, but it spreads unevenly across models. Some families are built only in the States, some only outside them, and some in several countries at once. For a model with mixed assembly, 0% or 10% comes out of the VIN.

Models of “American” brands without zero duty

Some Chevrolet families were never built in the States, and others moved abroad partway through a generation. Either way the car enters the EU at 10% rather than 0%. Model year and version can therefore give different answers under one and the same model name.

How do you check a specific car?

Start with the first three characters of the VIN — on a US-assembled Chevrolet that is most often 000. It is a good hint rather than proof: the prefix describes the manufacturer and the country, while we reach for the record of the actual plant, so the answer covers this one car.

How much will you save?

How much you save follows the customs value, so what you get here is the mechanism rather than a finished number. A Chevrolet from an American plant comes in at 0% instead of 10%, and lower duty also drags down the 23% VAT base. Put your car's details into the calculator and read off the difference.

Work out the import cost

Zero-duty paperwork — our job

We handle customs from end to end. A Chevrolet with an American assembly plant is declared under the preference in force since 2026-07-01; every other car goes in at the standard 10% rate. Which documents are needed follows from the car's own data, not from the seller's description.
